2015 Positively Powerful Woman Award Honorees and Leadership Conference Set for June 5

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – May 5, 2015 – The 8th Annual Positively Powerful Women Awards Luncheon will honor six extraordinary women in a new program format that provides a dynamic, daylong leadership conference. The Positively Powerful Woman Awards Luncheon and Leadership Conference will kick off at 8 a.m., Friday, June 5 at the Ritz-Carlton, Phoenix. It will conclude at 6 p.m.

Martin, international trainer, speaker and coach and the creator of the Positively Powerful Woman Awards program. “They have made tremendous achievements professionally and personally and their contributions have made a positive impact in their communities. The 2015 class of honorees is an exceptional and talented group.”

The 2015 Positively Powerful Woman Award honorees are:

Philanthropic Leadership Award: Nicole Stanton
Partner/Phoenix Office Managing Partner, Quarles & Brady LLP and First Lady
, City of Phoenix
Nicole Stanton, is an experienced litigator, managing partner and associate general counsel at one of the nation’s, and Phoenix’s, most prestigious law firms. Nicole is also the founder of Stop Bullying AZ.

Arts & Culture Leadership Award: Isola Jones
Internationally Recognized Mezzo-Soprano
Isola Jones is a world-renowned mezzo-soprano who has performed with the esteemed Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Metropolitan Opera. While her work has taken her around the globe, she calls the valley of the sun her home and shares her gift with the community through her work as an adjunct faculty member at South Mountain Community College.

Visionary Leadership Award: MaryLynn Mack
Deputy Director, Desert Botanical Garden
MaryLynn Mack will be receiving the very first Visionary Leader Award. MaryLynn was chosen for this new award for her bold vision and commitment that extends far into the future. She is leading a five-year initiative that will create a master plan for an innovative Children/Family Garden space and experience.

Entrepreneurial Leadership Award: Bonnie Lucas, President/CEO
Law Enforcement Specialists, Inc.
Bonnie Lucas founded Law Enforcement Specialists, Inc. more than 20 years ago to provide a vehicle to bring together off-duty officers and companies that were in need of security for insurance requirements or enhanced public safety.

Educational Leadership Award: Duku Anokye
Director of International Initiatives for the ASU New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences
Dr. Duku Anokye is a sociolinguist whose research focuses on African Diasporic women activists as community mothers. She is a published author and creator of the Pioneer Awards Program, an annual event that honors the contribution of African-American leaders.

Spiritual Leadership Award: Rev. Delphine Rodriquez
Minister and Educator
Rev. Delphine Rodriguez is a minister and pastor at San Carlos. She serves as a jail minister for female inmates sharing hope and the word of God. In addition, she is the principal at San Carlos Unified School District Alternative School.

The awards presentation will include a keynote address by Dr. Martin, which will be followed by a luncheon favorite, the honoree panel discussion. This year the topic is “The New Feminism.” After the panel, the leadership conference will resume. The day will culminate with a dessert reception and Reflections of the Day with special guest, Dr. George Fraser, CEO of FraserNet and the PowerNetworking Conference.

Conference speakers include Rev. Dr. Helen Hunt, Deborah Bateman, Loretta Love Huff, Kristi Lee, Diane Santiago and Suzan Hart. The Leadership Conference is open to all, women and men. Anyone who would like to take hold of their leadership skills and propel them to the next level is encouraged to attend.
