Dr. Stewart’s Final Sermon to take place on Sunday, June 29
Phoenix, AZ (June 16, 2025) — After 48 years of transformative ministry, community leadership, and unwavering dedication to justice, Dr. Warren H. Stewart, Sr., Senior Pastor of First Institutional Baptist Church (FIBC), will be honored with a jubilant Pastoral Anniversary and Retirement Celebration Weekend, taking place June 27–29, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona.
This momentous occasion will mark the culmination of nearly five decades of pastoral leadership and social advocacy from one of Arizona’s most influential spiritual and civil rights leaders. Hosted by FIBC, the celebration will bring together church members, civic leaders, national faith figures, and the broader Phoenix community to honor Dr. Stewart’s extraordinary legacy.
Celebration Weekend Schedule:
Friday, June 27 – Celebration Gala
Location: Sheraton Phoenix Downtown | 6:00 PM
An elegant black-tie gala featuring musical guests, tribute videos, and heartfelt reflections from family, friends, and national dignitaries. The evening will highlight Dr. Stewart’s commitment to justice, faith, and servant leadership across nearly five decades.
Sunday, June 29 – Farewell Sunday Worship Services
Location: First Institutional Baptist Church | 7:30 AM & 11:00 AM
Dr. Stewart will deliver his final messages as Senior Pastor during two powerful worship experiences:

· 11:00 AM – Church Family Farewell Message
Both services will feature live music by acclaimed gospel recording artist Maurice Griffin. This spiritually uplifting day will honor Dr. Stewart’s enduring impact on the church, city, and nation.
