Veteran actor and star of CW’s All-American: Homecoming, John Marshall Jones, will be in St. Louis next week to help celebrate the centennial anniversary of the National Guide Right program, the nation’s oldest and most successful mentoring program for youth of color.
Since its inception, Guide Right has provided more than 500,000 students the opportunity to be mentored by advisors, conduct community service, attend college tours, corral scholarships for college, and prepare for careers in trades or entrepreneurship.
Jones is the national spokesperson for Kappa League, a subset of the Guide Right program. As the national spokesperson, Jones will be participating in the multi-day event focused on bringing awareness to the importance of mentorship while providing leadership development activities for this year’s youth attendees.
From July 6-10, hundreds of youth and adult mentors will participate in activities that include debate and math competitions, robotic and STEM activities, networking, recreation, and more. In addition, national leaders from Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., will also join the celebration, including the Fraternity’s international president, St. Louis resident and attorney Reuben A. Shelton, III.
